Designers, developers, founders, product professionals and creative business owners from across Africa will gather in Lagos for the Untitled Designers Conference 2026, a two-day experience focused on the people building the continent’s next products, brands and creative companies.
The conference will take place on October 16 and 17, 2026, at Regal Hall, Ikeja, Lagos. This year’s theme, “Human by Design, Where Culture, Code and Creativity Meet,” will explore how empathy, culture and human experience can guide the way people create products, build businesses and use technology.
The event will open on Friday, October 16, with a private mixer for speakers, sponsors, partners and Inner Circle ticket holders. The main conference will follow on Saturday, October 17, with keynotes, panel discussions, practical workshops and the live UDC Design Challenge.
More than 20 speakers are expected to share practical lessons from their work across product design, branding, animation, technology and creative business. Announced speakers include Niyi Okeowo of Kuda, Ted Oladele of Chowdeck, Taiwo Folu of Eaxum, Bashiru Yusuf of Pushé Studio, Tony Ameji of Tony&Co and Onyechere Elizabeth Oloba of TheMerit agency.
The sessions will examine the craft and decisions behind creative work, collaboration between designers, engineers and product teams, the realities of building a profitable creative business, and the future of African design. Attendees will gain ideas they can apply to their careers and businesses while meeting professionals who may become collaborators, clients and mentors.
The UDC Design Challenge will give selected designers an opportunity to compete live before the conference audience. The winning team will receive a N500,000 cash prize, three months of mentorship with a senior creative director and access to future UDC events.
Founded in 2022, the Untitled Designers Conference was created to give African designers stronger access to education, professional relationships and opportunities. The first edition attracted more than 700 attendees. Attendance increased to more than 1,000 in 2023, more than 1,500 in 2024 and more than 3,000 in 2025. At least 3,000 people are expected to attend the 2026 edition.
The conference is part of a growing Untitled Designers community with more than 5,000 members across six countries. Its year-round activities connect emerging designers with experienced practitioners and create spaces where creative professionals can learn, collaborate and gain recognition.
